History of Lanzarote One

Lanzarote One is the result of a company formed in October 1986 by Nick and Lesley Brumby and another British couple. Trading originally as Lanzarote Holidays it specialised in managing privately owned apartments and villas in Lanzarote. In 1991 Nick & Lesley became sole owners of the company and 3 years later set up a new company called Lanzarote Property Management (sister company to Lanzarote One) which manages the accommodation and looks after the guests in resort.

In 1994 the company moved to new frontline premises in Puerto del Carmen on the main avenida where it is still based today. The new premises proved to be an ideal location for a new venture and shortly after an estate agency partnership, Inversiones Timanfaya, was formed which began trading alongside Lanzarote Property Management. The partnership offered a great opportunity for clients to buy property on Lanzarote and have it looked after by the management company in their absence. They could also earn revenue through holiday rentals. The company grew, with more and more properties being added to its portfolio and was awarded best self catering in Spain by The Magic of Spain in 1999.

In 2002 the first website was launched under the name of lanzarote1.com and has since undergone several redesigns as part of the companys policy to adapt and grow with the changing market. In May 2006 a major office reorganisation moved the management business to the first floor and the estate agency to the ground floor, giving this part of the business a much sought after prime location. Extra office space was aquired upstairs and the travel agency started trading in 2007 under the name of Viajes Lanzarote Holidays S.L (VLH travel).

The newly redesigned user friendly website is due to be launched in early 2011, providing both direct clients and agents with more and improved property photos and details to showcase the stylish, high quality villas on offer. Currently the company has a portfolio of over 150 villas plus apartments and a database of over 5000 direct clients, many of whom return each year. Lanzarote1 also supplies accommodation to 3 major UK tour operators and a number of independent travel agents.

2011 has also seen an exiting new venture with the original estate agency partnership dissolved and a new in house estate agency opened under the name of House Lanzarote.

What began 25 years ago as a very small management company now encompasses 3 businesses providing a complete service to clients, whether they are looking to purchase or sell, for property management and renting, or to reserve their holiday villa.
